Bradley Mechanical Supports Hunger Relief Efforts with $5,000 Feed More Donation
As a local business, we take it upon ourselves to give back in ways that directly impact the lives of the individuals within our community. One way we do this is by supporting nonprofits that align with our values and mission. For the fourth year in a row, we are proud to share that we donated $5,000 to our friends at Feed More, a nonprofit dedicated to providing hunger relief to Central Virginia residents. In partnership with Lennox, Bradley Mechanical donated a portion of every Lennox system sold during Q4 of 2023 to the Feed More programs and Lennox matched the total amount for their combined donation in 2024.
In addition to one in nine individuals struggling with food security, grocery costs are higher than ever before. As of 2023, it costs just under $1,000 to feed a family of four in Central Virginia. That total doesn’t include essential nutrients, just the bare minimum and often the cheapest options, which can mean processed foods high in sugar, fat and other unhealthy ingredients negatively impact the health and wellbeing of families over time.
To combat this issue, Feed More has donated over 35 million pounds of food across Central Virginia, with more than half of that (20 million pounds!) being healthy, fresh produce and protein. With over 400 distribution sites across 29 counties and five cities, Feed More provides more than 2 million full plates every year for those in need.
Feed More serves children, adults and seniors in both rural and urban areas of Virginia. With their Meals on Wheels, Kids Cafes, Community Kitchen and Mobile Pantry initiatives, Feed More is able to reach a wide demographic. From ensuring children receive a healthy breakfast before school to reaching elderly community members who are unable to grocery shop for themselves, Feed More makes a huge difference in our community every day.
“Just because we’ve completed a job for a customer or small business doesn’t mean our work is done. We believe it’s our job to support our community in more ways than one,” said Brad Bradley, CEO of Bradley Mechanical. “Feed More is one of those organizations that is out here doing the good work each and every day, and we’re thrilled we can make an impact with our donation.”
With the help of donations like this, Feed More can continue to provide warm, nutritious and healthy meals to the people of Central Virginia experiencing hunger. Interested in getting involved? If you own a local business, you can participate similarly to Bradley Mechanical. Individuals can also volunteer their time and skills or submit individual donations at feedmore.org. Food donations are also accepted weekdays 9 a.m. – 4 p.m., at Feed More’s main campus.
