Duct Sealing Professionals You Can Count On

Bradley Mechanical has over 50 years of experience and a team of certified HVAC technicians to seal your ducts correctly. We only use the highest quality products when sealing ductwork. We use a flexible bonding agent, which is applied to the joints, connections and taps of your ductwork. Over time, no matter the conditions, settling or shifting of your home or business, your ductwork will maintain that seal. Once the installation is complete, we will also test your ductwork to ensure your system efficiently distributes air throughout your home or business and does not contain any leaks that can result in future issues.

Problems with Faulty Duct Sealing

Losing heated or cooled air that passes through their ducts because of faulty or improper installation and sealing is not only frustrating but costly. More often than not, this is due to lesser quality materials used for sealing ductwork like duct tape. Duct tape can quickly lose its adhesiveness due to changing temperatures, moisture and other common elements it comes in contact with.

Additionally, due to the way structures settle and shift over time, the adhesive from the tape can come free from the ductwork. When this occurs, it creates leaking in your ductwork. As more air escapes and moisture continues to come in contact with the exposed underside of the tape, it will cause the leak to grow. When situations like this occur, it exposes you to a whole host of problems.

Other common problems we find with faulty duct sealing include:

  • Overworked HVAC systems. Leaking in your ductwork causes inefficient heating and cooling. This means your system needs more energy and effort to heat and cool your home or business properly. As a result of working overtime, it will undoubtedly lead your HVAC system to fail prematurely. This can also lead to costly repairs or even force you into a situation where you have to replace the entire unit.
  • Excess moisture. Improperly sealing ductwork can cause condensation, pulling water from the air surrounding your ductwork and forcing it into your living or workspace. This creates insulation damage, wood rot and even structural damage, leading to serious safety issues.
  • Exposure to contaminants and pollutants. Ductwork that leaks may expose you to serious health risks. When ductwork is exposed, it can draw or pull in outside contaminants like dust, insulation, and even asbestos from the insulation surrounding the leak. Once these pollutants enter the system, they are pumped into your home or business, where you constantly breathe them in. Over time, it can cause serious and sometimes fatal health issues.
  • Frequently Asked Questions

    Why is duct sealing important?

Sealing ductwork can help improve indoor air quality by reducing the pollutants that enter the ducts and circulate throughout your home. It also increases the efficiency of your HVAC system and lowers your energy bills. This means the cool or warm air you want will more easily reach the numerous rooms in your home or business.

How long does duct sealing work?

After a thorough inspection and testing, our team will use a silicone sealant and adhesive to create a waterproof, protective seal that can last up to 20 years.
